Bull Session 3: Prudence

Prudence.  Acting with or showing care and thought for the future.  The ability to govern and discipline oneself by the use of reason.

I don’t know why but every time I have a scheduled run, I have these imagined fevers and stomach aches.  This morning, I had them again. But then the word PRUDENCE came to my mind.  “That’s correct,” I said.  I will run a marathon in February so I better prepare hard for it.  No excuses.  Prudence.  That’s the word that kept me running for two hours.

This morning, my siblings and I drove to Track 30th at BGC for the third Bull Session.  It was still very dark at 5am but the runners were eager and ready.  The run was part of the TBR Dream Marathon 2013 training program.  We were divided into three groups: 4-1 (4 minute run, 1 minute walk), 3-1, and 2-1.  I joined the 2-1 group.

Slow and steady pace.  By the end of two hours, we were able to run-walk for 14.5 kilometers.  I was tired but not exhausted.  It was a nice workout.  And I was so glad I ran and finished.  As they say, “You never regret the workout you did.”
