December 9, 2012. 5am. It was still dark in Fontana in Clark, Pampanga. Jehan and I were up and ready to start our LSD run as part of our marathon training. The goal time for that morning was two hours and twenty minutes. First we ran inside Fontana and then we decided to go out and run to the Clark International Speedway.
I could feel Christmas in the air. It was chilly and the light posts were decorated with colorful and beautiful lanterns. Of course, Pampanga is famous for making them.
It was really nice to run in another place. It’s tiresome to run in the same route each and every time we train, don’t you think so? I liked Clark’s wide paved roads, tall acacia trees, and the clean and crisp air. When the sun started to rise, the sky displayed a kaleidoscope of colors. It was beautiful and refreshing. I asked Jehan how long we’ve been running. I was surprised when she said “40 minutes.” Already? I didn’t get bored at all. 🙂
We arrived at the Speedway. Are we allowed to run there? Good thing Philminiracers (my blog partner) had an event scheduled for the day. Anyway it was still early and the minis were not yet there so they allowed us in. Yippee! Thank you!
On your marks. Get set. Go!
After running for 2 hours and 20 minutes, I felt like a winner.
1st place? 🙂
My prize was a bowl of congee with lots of toasted garlic and spring onions and one hard boiled egg. Excellent! 🙂
