What a Way to Celebrate a 50th Birthday!

Congratulations to my brother-in-law J-Cip who ran 50 km last Sunday to celebrate his 50th birthday.  50@50! Woohoo!
The run was called L2Q, meaning from Laguna all the way to Quezon.  It started from the Laguna Provincial Capitol in Sta.Cruz passing though Pagsanjan, Lumban, Caliraya, Cavinti, Luisiana, and then finally the finish line in Lucban Quezon. Whew!
Lots of “uphells” along the race route.  Kilometers 9-12 make me want to puke. Take a look:

Here are some photos.  Enjoy!

Almost there.

He made it!  He conquered the hills, the scorching sun, the wind, the distance!  50 km at 50 years old.  Incredible.  Congratulations to you, Kuya J-Cip.  We are so proud of you.

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you the new ultra-marathoner with his medal, trophy, and certificate. (Applause!)

Certified ultra-marathoner
The best reward of all, he got to eat the famous pancit habhab and halo-halo.  Well-deserved indeed! Mmm!
Here with my sister, his cheerleader, Joy
His next ultra: Tagaytay to Kawit?  Go!

  1. 32-53-42-50…..Numbers in a Lotto tickets? Nope….These are the race distances that the 50th birthday celebrant ran and will be running. What a LONG LONG way to Celebrate a 50th Birthday. Hahahaha. I guess he'll add some more before the year end. 42-50-42 (RU3, T2N and QCIM). Crazy!
